About Us

The idea for Rapid Gasket was borne out of CEO & Founder Glenn Edwards' frustration as a mechanical engineer. Like many engineers in the product development field, he was in search of a source that could provide quick-turn custom prototype gaskets at a reasonable price and without upfront tooling costs. As they say, if you can't buy it- make it and the concept for Rapid Gasket was born. 

Glenn Edwards, CEO & Founder  As CEO and Founder of Rapid Gasket, Glenn Edwards is both an entrepreneur and engineer and enjoys bringing technical teams together to solve challenges in the automation and life science markets. He started working on the idea for Rapid Gasket in 2005 in his spare time and began working full-time with Rapid Gasket in 2009.  Also, Glenn received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force, holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a Master's in Engineering Systems from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California.

Lorne and Marie Bechtel, Co-Founders.  The Bechtels were instrumental in getting RapidGasket off the ground and through the early growth years. Lorne Bechtel is the author of all the server-based code running the Rapidgasket system.  He was an embedded software developer who specialized in C++ programming as well as a Linux enthusiast and advocate in his spare time. As a 37-year veteran of the software programming field, his main expertise was in software architecture and development for medical devices.  Marie provided RapidGasket with her marketing, business and legal expertise and helped us solidify our position in the gasket industry.

Doug Bierer, Website Development Engineer  Doug joined the Rapid Gasket team as a website development engineer in 2019. Doug brought his extensive experience in website development, website security, planning, code generation and maintenance, and much more.

Jeanne Ruiz, Software Development Engineer  Jeanne Ruiz joined the Rapid Gasket team as a software development engineer in 2009. Jeanne brought with her extensive experience in software development, concept formation, planning, code generation and maintenance.
