Tooled Washers
We spent considerable time streamlining and automating the tooling process
for our new washer product offering. Keeping with Rapid Gasket tradition,
we want to offer our customers the quickest turnaround on their
custom elastomer gasket needs.
Requirements:
- Use the Contact Us page to order and attach a drawing if you can.
- ID should be one material thickness, or greater.
- Max OD is 1.625" [41.28mm] for quick turnaround. Larger is possible.
- OD must be larger than ID by a certain amount:
- This is on a case-by-case basis.
- We'll review your requirements and offer suggestions if needed.
- All elastomers listed on our Technical Services page are available, plus many more not listed.
- Eccentric ID and OD can be accomodated, but within limitations.
- Pressure Sensitive Adhesive and special packaging needs are no problem.
- Quote turnaround is a day, or two.
- Part turnaround can be within a week, depending on several factors.
Materials:
Rapid Gasket provides gaskets in a variety of non-metallic materials including:
- Silicone rubber- Foam:
- Red-orange in color
- Open-cell and very soft
- Thicknesses from 1.59mm [1/16"]
- Polyurethane- Foam:
- Dark-grey in color
- Adhesive-backed
- Open-cell, soft and with a skin
- A great foam material, 'Poron' offers excellent memory compared to other foams.
- Supported means a 2 mil thin polyester film is bonded to the material on the adhesive side. This gives great stability when applying, especially with the thinner foams.
- Thicknesses from 0.79mm [1/32"]
- Cork Sheeting:
- Cork/Rubber blend improves performance over straight cork material with only a modest increase in cost. Our most affordable gasket material.
- Thicknesses from 0.79mm [1/32"].
- Silicone rubber- Solid:
- Red-orange in color
- FDA Grade 21 CFR 177.2600
- Very high performance elastomer and at 40A Durometer this material is versatile.
- Supplied with a light talc
- Thicknesses from 0.79mm [1/32"].
- Neoprene rubber- Solid:
- Black in color
- Durometer 40A
- This material is a solid performer and is less expensive than silicone.
- Thicknesses from 0.79mm [1/32"].
- Viton rubber- Solid
- Black in color
- Durometer 75A
- We offer standard strength, but this material is the highest performing elastomer.
- Smooth both sides
- Thicknesses available:
- 0.79mm [1/32"]
- 1.58mm [1/16"]
